CopFlip AI ("we", "us", or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you use our iOS application and website.

1. Information we collect

We collect the following types of information:

• Account information: When you create an account, we collect your email address and a hashed password.
• Scan data: When you scan an item, the image is temporarily processed by our AI service to generate a resell report. We store the item name, suggested price, demand score, and platform recommendation against your account.
• Usage data: We collect anonymised data about how you use the app, including the number of scans performed per month, to enforce free tier limits and improve our service.
• Payment information: Subscriptions are handled entirely by Apple via in-app purchase. We do not collect or store your payment card details.

2. How we use your information

• To provide, operate, and improve the CopFlip AI service
• To authenticate your identity and maintain your account
• To track your monthly scan usage and enforce free tier limits
• To display your scan history within the app
• To communicate service updates or respond to support requests

3. Image processing

When you scan an item, your photo is sent to a third-party AI vision API (OpenAI) for analysis. Images are processed in real time and are not permanently stored by us or by OpenAI. We only store the text result of the analysis (item name, price, platform). You should not scan images containing sensitive personal information.

4. Data storage and security

Your account data and scan history are stored securely using Supabase, a GDPR-compliant database provider. Data is encrypted in transit using TLS and at rest. We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information.

5. Third-party services

CopFlip AI uses the following third-party services:

• Supabase — authentication and database storage
• OpenAI — AI image and text analysis
• eBay — live market pricing data
• Apple StoreKit — in-app subscription billing

Each of these providers operates under their own privacy policies and data processing agreements.

6. Data retention

We retain your account information and scan history for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at support@copflipai.com. Upon account deletion, your personal data will be permanently removed within 30 days.

7. Your rights (UK & EU users)

Under UK GDPR and applicable data protection laws, you have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
• Object to processing of your data
• Request data portability
• Lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO)

8. Children's privacy

CopFlip AI is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
